NS Records
What are NS records? Why are they essential for your website?
The NS (Name Server) records of a domain name show which DNS servers are authoritative for its zone. In simple terms, the zone is the range of all records for the domain, so when you open a URL inside a web browser, your computer asks the DNS servers globally where the domain is hosted and from which servers the DNS records for the domain must be retrieved. That way a web browser finds out what the A or AAAA record of the domain address is so that the latter is mapped to an IP and the website content is required from the correct location, a mail relay server finds out which server manages the e-mails for the domain address (MX record) to ensure a message can be sent to the correct mailbox, and so forth. Any change of these sub-records is performed using the company whose name servers are employed, so you're able to keep the web hosting and change only your email provider for example. Every single domain name has no less than two NS records - primary and secondary, which start with a prefix like NS or DNS.

NS Records in Cloud Web Hosting
If you use a
cloud web hosting from our company and you add a new domain name inside the account or transfer an existing one from a different company, you'll be able to control its NS records effortlessly via the Hepsia website hosting CP, provided with all shared accounts. You are able to change the current name servers or enter additional ones for a single domain or even for several domains at the same time with several clicks. This is done via the feature-rich Domain Manager tool that is a part of Hepsia and the user-friendly interface will make it easy to manage your domain name even if it's the first you have ever registered. It takes merely a click to see what name servers a domain name uses at the moment or if they're the correct ones to point a domain to the hosting space on our end and with only a few clicks more you will even be able to register private name servers for any of the domain addresses that you own. For the latter option you can use the IPs of every company that you would like the new NS records to point to.

NS Records in Semi-dedicated Servers
The name servers for every single domain address that's registered through us could be changed with no more than a few clicks from the advanced, although easy-to-use Hepsia CP that is included with all
semi-dedicated server plans. It is just as effortless to see the current NS records for a given domain name and to determine if they are the ones that are required for the domain to be directed to your hosting account. The Domain Manager tool, which is a part of Hepsia, is user-friendly enough to permit you to handle any domain address with ease even if you have never dealt with such matters before. If you want, you may also register private name servers ns1.your-domain.com and ns2.your-domain.com and use them not only for the domain address under which they're set up, but also for any other domain that you would like to host within the exact same account. This option is very useful when you have clients of your own and you want their sites to use your own name servers rather than our default ones. The service is available free of charge.
